Jordan 3 “Cardinal Red“Release Date: Feb 19th, 2022 (Saturday)Color: White/Light Curry/Cardinal Red/Cement Grey

The “Cardinal Red”-accented retro was confirmed as arriving in February 2022 during the Jordan Spring 2022 Preview that took place on Friday, December 10th, via the SNKRS app. While far from the collection’s most-anticipated release, the upcoming take on Tinker Hatfield’s first-ever design for Michael Jordan further blends heritage with modern-day flby following the silhouette’s inaugural color-blocking. The titular shade of ruby arrives at the midsole, collar and tongue lining, eyelets and Jumpman logos on the heel. Elephant print reprises its role in the “Cement Grey” it helped make synonymous with the Jordan line. Given that 2022 marks the Jordan 7‘s 30th anniversary, it’s possible the similarly-colored version of the model will make a return, ending its 11-year hiatus.

In palette, the pbears a very close resemblance to the same-named Jordan 7 from 1992, albeit with touches true to MJ’s third signature. Among them, the Elephant Print is surely the most noteworthy feature, as it dresses the toe, eye stay, and heel with bolder, more pronounced cracks. A white tumbled leather, then, constructs the shoe’s upper, while the colorway’s focal “Cardinal Red” and “Light Curry” outfit the accents adjacent.
